Whilst it is always great to get on a plane and go overseas on a fantastic adventure, costs and carbon loading are having an effect on all of our lives; not only that but we have a great wealth of stunning coastal wildlife to discover and enjpy here in the UK.
BASKING SHARKS: With the above in mind, we have developed a fantastic, not to mention unique, opportunity to visit and view in-water, our magnificent Basking Sharks. Basking Sharks migrate to our coastline and appear every summer along the west coast. After years of persecution and directed fishing, their numbers plummeted to near extinction levels. Although protection for these sharks is now in place in our coastal waters, they are still fairly rare, and opportunities to see them underwater are few and far between. We have developed what we believe to be the UK’s only dedicated basking shark charter where we go out and seek underwater encounters with these sharks. Click here to download the itinerary for 2010. Be quick, spaces are extremely limited.
DIVE TUITION: On the Isle of Wight we have some stunning heritage coastline. The dramatic backdrop of crumbling, fossil laden cliffs adjacent to the island’s AONB heartland make it an ideal place to come and learn the ropes and take the first steps in your diving career. Click here to go to the diving tuition page and find out more.
PHOTO TUITION: The Isle of Wight has come into its own recently as a popular destination, removed at last from the bucket and spade destination for which it was formerly known. The 'Green Isle' ethos is firmly embedded in today's community and it is with this in mind that we offer photo tuition and field trip days to capture the stunning majesty of the UK's offshore gem. We make use of beautiful National Trust land to make a really wild photographic field trip. Click here to find out more.
