The Isle of Wight has some of the most stunning coastline in the UK, and our offshore waters are dotted with a high denstity of wrecks. Obviously, being an island, we have water all around us and so we can often find a suitable dive spot on the leeside of the coastline if weather keeps us from the prevailing windward side. We only take on small groups of divers for tuition (up to four) so you can be guaranteed a personal and fun service.

Acuatours offers a professional yet friendly introduction to the underwater world so if you live on the Isle of Wight or are on holiday here, then you can take advantage of our PADI instruction to help you take your first steps underwater.

Once you advance from the learning stages, we have a range of exciting tours and trips to some of the worlds most exhilarating places. We have our very own manta ray conservation project in Ecuador and we also arrange our very own shark encounter trips to Scotland to dive with basking sharks. More advanced and experienced divers might also like to consider our shark encounter trips to South Africa to dive with Tiger Sharks or Great White Sharks.

The first steps into the diving world involve roughly two days dive theory and also practice in a swimming pool. We split the thoery and the pool sessions so that you actually get into the pool on your first day of the course, and then further pool sessions as your theory advances on day two. We then make four dives in the sea over two days to complete your open water certification.

Once you complete PADI Open Water dive training, you are free to dive with a buddy to 18 metres. We can facilitate further PADI training beyond this including Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver, numerous specialities including Underwater Photography, Nitrox Diving, Dry Suit diving and your first level as a dive professional with the PADI divemaster course.

NOTE: All courses are flexible. Theory can be learned to suit your own style of study, for example in your own home for only a couple of hours a week. Perfect for boring winter nights. You can also complete your PADI Open Water training on one of our dive excursions, so if you have completed the theory and pool sections, you can complete the open water requirements of the course whilst beginning your holiday with us. We can also arrange a referral so that you can complete the Open Water aspect with any PADI dive centre, so even if you are not coming with us on a trip, you can refer to elsewhere to complete the course.

Please note that diving in the UK is very weather dependant. Shore diving programs can be subject to delay due to adverse weather so if you require certification in advance of a holiday or other activity we recommend you plan well ahead. The images at the top of this page were not taken during diving in UK conditions and are there for marketing purposes only.
